The first workshop of Tangaroa, held in April 2024 over two days, focused on Governance and Management and over 100 attendees.
Speakers and topics included an overview of the governance and legal framework, impact of pollution from PPWs, UNESCO and PPWs, overview from PPW flag state countries (US, UK, Germany, Japan), and regional management overviews (UK, Atlantic/US, North Sea, Baltic, Mediterranean, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific). There were also workshops on possible solutions and gaps/hurdles.
